Personal Statement

I have been playing basketball since I was five years old. My goal is to play college basketball. As one of the tallest guys on the court, I have a great read of the game as it is happening. I am a team player and I use my high basketball IQ on the court by executing excellent passes, taking less obvious shots, and knowing my role on both offense and defense. On the bench, I am vocal and lead my team with encouragement, advice, and celebrate their accomplishments. I am coachable, and make the most of every opportunity to be in the gym, practice shots, and improve my strength and conditioning. Outside of the gym, I strive to do my best academically. I am proud of my high GPA, and I enjoy extracurricular activities with my school including honor society and FCA.I understand the privilege it is to attend college and to do so while playing my favorite sport would be a dream come true. Education is very important to my family, and meeting these two life-long goals would be my greatest accomplishment. I want to play basketball, earn my bachelor's degree, and make my parents proud.
